Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 November /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / Azerenerji JSC continues balancing and commissioning works at the large modular power station, of which construction was completed in Sangachal, Vice President of Azerenerji, Marlen Askerov, said on 5 November.
According to Askerov, the station will be
connected to the national power system by the end of this year.
The power station in Sangachal is constructed by the Finnish Wartsila Company.
The capacity of the power station comprises more than 300 MWt. The Finnish
Wartsila company proposed a new technology of switching modular power station
in Sangachal from gas to mazut and vice versa, which will considerably
accelerate this process. Previously company proposed the period of switching at
24 hours. At present it was reduced to the half-hour. Station consists of 18
aggregates.
At present the real total capacity of the
power system of the country is 5,300 MWt. The need for the electricity
in winter this year is evaluated at 4,300-4,500 MWt.
In summer energy reserve comprised more than 800,000
MWt.
