From January-August 2013, the State gas monitoring Department of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Industry and Energy revealed violations of the rules and conditions for use of gas and the gas economy at 685 facilities, the source at the Department told Trend on Friday.
According to the source, in total, 1,909 screenings were carried out by the Department from January-August.
"As a result of inspections, totally 47 protocols were drawn up in regards to individuals and legal entities for administrative violations," the source said.
In 2012, employees of the Department drew up 207 administrative protocols in regards to gas consumers. Revenues from fines through drawn up protocols exceeded 55,000 manat. In total, about 2,672 screenings were carried out by the Department in 2012. Violation of the rules for use of gas was observed in 770 cases during the held screenings.
Azerigas Production Association of Azerbaijani State Oil Company (SOCAR) is engaged in distribution and sale of gas in Azerbaijan's territory.
