Iran’s Energy Ministry should include 20 percent of the electricity it receives from the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant into the electricity export basket in order to develop nuclear fusion and new quantum technologies in the nuclear industry, Mohammad Mehdi Mofatteh, a spokesman for the Iranian parliament’s committee to review the budget for the next Iranian year (to start March 21, 2019), Trend reports via IRNA.

He said that the ministry should allocate 12 trillion rials (about $285 million) for this purpose.

Commission members have defined the government’s financial program, oil and oil revenues in the draft budget for the next year, he noted. Revenues related to privatization were also discussed, he said.

Also, a $5 billion loan from Russia has been approved for the implementation of the reconstruction projects, he said.

State-run companies may issue Islamic finance bonds (Sukuk) worth up to 45 trillion rials (about $1.07 billion) with a guarantee of payment of real earnings, he added.

“The Oil Ministry may allocate funds worth up to 35 trillion rials (about $833 million) in rials and foreign currency for the investments in oil and gas fields,” he noted. “The Oil Ministry may issue Islamic finance bonds (Sukuk) worth up to $3 billion in rials and foreign currency via the associated state companies in accordance with the government’s decision.”
