TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 1. Uzbekistan and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) discussed the joint implementation of new initiatives included in the program of cooperation for 2024–2026, Trend reports.
The matter was reviewed at a meeting between Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov with Vice President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Konstantin Limitovsky.
In particular, the program envisages financing 12 projects worth $2.5 billion in green energy, water supply, reconstruction of highways, and infrastructure development.
At the same time, the parties noted the progress of the implementation of promising projects in the spheres of energy, education, healthcare, and water supply.
Both sides discussed preparations for the IX Annual Meeting of the AIIB Board of Governors in Uzbekistan's Samarkand in September.
Meanwhile, AIIB's investment portfolio in Uzbekistan amounts to more than $2.7 billion invested in 13 projects in the spheres of state budget support, water supply and sewerage, energy, small business support, and private entrepreneurship.
