Azerbaijan increases gas exports to Turkey

In April 2019, Azerbaijan supplied 724.88 million cubic meters of gas to Turkey, which is 2.5 times increase compared to the same period last year (292.04 million cubic meters), Trend informs referring to a report posted on the website of Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

According to the EPDK report, in the first four months of 2019, the export of Azerbaijani gas to Turkey amounted to 2.989 billion cubic meters.

The total volume of natural gas exports to Turkey in April 2019 amounted to 4.296 billion cubic meters, which is 3.26 percent less compared to the same period of 2018, the report said.

Turkey imports gas from Azerbaijan via the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum). Turkey has a contract for annual purchase of 6.6 billion cubic meters of gas from the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas condensate field.
