Austria regards Azerbaijan as an important partner for energy transition, Austrian Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism told Trend.
“Renewable energy production is the cornerstone for a successful energy transition and Austria is currently working on achieving its ambitious yet realistic target of 100 percent (on balance, national) consumption of renewable energy by 2030. We are very much interested in experiences of other nations,” said the ministry.
The Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism pointed out the significance of the Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria (BRUA) for energy security.
BRUA gas transport infrastructure can be used in the forthcoming enlargement stages of the Southern Gas Corridor in the Balkans and Central Europe.
“In order to enhance energy security, in particular security of supply, and resilience, Austria follows the approach to diversify energy sources and distribution routes. Following this idea, BRUA is an important project,” said the ministry.
Azerbaijan is an important supply country for Europe, according to the ministry.
“Currently, Azerbaijan and Austria cooperate well on several levels,” said the ministry.
