Iran’s Tabriz Oil Refining Company reduces import of base oil by 80 percent

Tabriz Oil Refining Company, located in western Iran, has commissioned a technology project aimed at reducing import of base oil by 80 percent, Executive Director of Tabriz Oil Refining Company Gulamreza Baqeri Dizaj told reporters.

Dizaj made the remark in Tabriz at the 7th Rabe Rashidi Innovation and Technology Exhibition (RINOTEX), Trend reports referring to IRNA.

The executive director said that one million euros have been spent for the implementation of this project.

Dizaj added that the import of 90,000 tons of base oil per year was prevented as a result of supplying this product by Tabriz Oil Refining Company.

"The company has also changed the function of the reforming unit by converting it into light naphtha isomerization unit," the executive director said.

Dizaj said that 10 million euros were spent for the unit reforming project. He added that this project has also created added value for the iso recycle products.

“The goal of another project, which is on gasoline production, is to produce gasoline in accordance with Euro 4 standard and increase the production up to one million liters,” the executive director said adding that 265 million euros were spent for the project.

The 7th Rabe Rashidi Innovation and Technology Exhibition will run till Nov. 8.
