Iran implements water and electric power projects in Tehran province

Some 27 water and electric power projects worth 10.7 trillion rials (about $256 million) were implemented in Iran's Tehran province, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Energy Ministry's website.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian and other officials attended the event dedicated to the implementation of projects.

Some 550 billion rials (about $13 million) were spent for the water supply system in the south-eastern towns of Tehran province and 548 billion rials (about $13 million) for the water supply systems in 72 villages.

Solar panel plants with the capacity of 10 megawatts were commissioned through the funds worth 650 billion rials (about $15.4 million) and solar panel plants with the capacity of 2.7 megawatts were commissioned through the funds worth 120 billion rials (about $2.8 million) in Ray city.

The solar panel plants with the capacity of 8.4 megawatt have been commissioned in Damavand city through the funds worth 500 billion rials (about $11.9 million).

"The project of increasing the capacity of Pakdasht Thermal Power Plant by 200 megawatts worth 720 billion rials (about $17.1 million), seven projects on transmission of electricity worth 1.6 trillion rials (about $39.5 million), 13 projects on transmission and distribution of electricity in Tehran, Qarchak, Varamin and Eslamshahr cities worth over 1 trillion rials (approximately $25.9 million) were implemented.

A decision was made to implement 227 projects in the water and electric power sectors worth 330 trillion rials (about $7.8 billion) in 31 Iranian provinces in the second half of this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019).
