Electricity production increases in Kazakhstan

Volume of oil extraction in Kazakhstan amounted to 8 million tons in January 2020, which is 0.2 percent less than in January 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Industrial manufacturing in the country increased by 4.1 percent in January 2020, compared to the same period of 2019.

Thus, manufacturing of copper ore amounted to 10.7 million tons, which is 26 percent more than in the reporting month of 2019. Manufacturing of petrol amounted to 0.4 million tons (increase by 12.7 percent).

Manufacturing of Portland cement was 0.3 million tons, which is 3.1 percent more than in 2019. Manufacturing of flat metal was 0.2 million tons (increase by 2.4 times), of gasoil to 0.4 million tons (decrease by 0.3 percent), of electricity to 10.2 billion kWh (increase by 2.4 percent).

Flour manufacturing amounted to 0.2 million tons, which indicates a decrease of 10.1 percent compared to 2018.

“Manufacturing of natural gas and metal ores increased in January 2020 compared to January 2019. Volume of tobacco products production increased, as well as of oil refining, metallurgy industry and mechanical engineering production. Food items and plastic items production decreased,” the report said.
