Turkmenistan and Bahrain discussed prospects for the development of cooperation in such areas as energy sector and chemical industry, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
This issue was discussed during a videoconference between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani on July 7, 2020.
The parties considered the prospects for the development of interstate relations including interaction within international organizations, the report said.
The ministers confirmed the mutual interest of Ashgabat and Manama in developing political and diplomatic dialogue and strengthening bilateral trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
In particular, the parties focused on the cooperation in such areas as energy sector and chemical industry. In this context, the ministers discussed the possibility of holding online meetings of representatives of various state and private structures of Turkmenistan and Bahrain.
Furthermore, the sides considered ways to consolidating efforts in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
As was reported earlier, Turkmen-Bahraini business forum, which was held in Ashgabat last year, identified priority areas of the cooperation in the oil and gas, construction, transport and communication, banking and food industries.
