The 4th gas refinery of Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) produced about 21.5 million barrels of gas condensate, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), the Head of 4th Refinery of the SPGC, Behzad Salari said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to Salari, the 4th gas refinery has also produced about 170,000 tons of butane within the mentioned period.

“At the same time, propane production of the refinery for 8 months amounted to 289,000 tons,” he added.

In addition, the refinery produced 12.8 million cubic meters of gas for export in eight months. Also, it has transported more than 925 million cubic meters of ethane gas to the Bushehr Petrochemical Company, the official noted.

The 4th refinery of the South Pars Gas Company can process 104 million cubic meters of sour gas, 138,000 barrels of gas condensate, 3,000 tons of propane gas, and 2,000 tons of butane daily.

The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate. Iran has so far spent $90 billion on projects of the South Pars gas field.

The phases of the South Pars gas field are located in an area of 3.7 km. Iran has extracted more than 1.8 trillion cubic meters of gas and 2.2 billion barrels of gas condensate worth $335 billion by the end of last Iranian year (March 20, 2021).
