Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / A mission of the World Bank led by Anny Daskup is finalising the identification of the project on ecological rehabilitation of oil-polluted lands in the Absheron peninsula on May 4. The WB Baku Office announced that the mission set up the visit on 30 April.
The first visit of the WB mission on the ecological project was paid in February, while specific work developing the project began during the current visit.
The key objective of the visit is to familiarize them with the proposals of the Azerbaijani government, to give an indication of the problem and ways of assisting its resolving it.
The WB country strategy on treatment of oil polluted lands in Absheron, envisages the approval of a $50mln credit to Azerbaijan.
