BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 19
By Fakhri Vakilov - Trend:
Russian national Mir payment card system will be available everywhere in Uzbekistan, starting from the first half of 2020, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
According to the payment system operator Vladimir Komlev, at the moment, work is underway to launch the system in Turkey for the upcoming tourist season.
"In Uzbekistan, the system will be launched in the first half of next year," Komlev said.
Komlev said the company expects to cover about 85-90 percent of the Belarusian infrastructure next year as well.
Mir is the Russian national payment card system created in 2014-2015 after the international systems Visa and Mastercard stopped conducting operations with cards of Russian banks that fell under US sanctions. The process also solved the problem of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of cards on international payment systems in Russia.
