The number of payment cards in Azerbaijan from January through November 2021 grew, Trend reports citing the Central Bank (CBA).
According to the CBA, this figure exceeded 10.8 million, up by 185,000 nos. (18.8 percent) compared to the first 11 months of 2020 (10.6 million).
The largest number of the cards fell on debit cards (9.49 million), including social - 3.51 million, salary - about 2.62 million, and other card products - 3.35 million.
The number of debit cards increased by 1.43 million (17.7 percent over the year), while credit cards - by 27.3 percent - from 1.07 million (recorded in 11M2020) to 1.36 million.
At the same time, the number of ATMs operating from January through November this year amounted to 2,882, of which 1,527 are in Baku, and 1,355 - in other cities and districts of the country.
The number of ATMs in the reporting period rose by 194 units (7.2 percent) year on year.
The number of POS terminals in the country has reached 60,797, of which 40,450 are installed in Baku, while the rest 20,347 - in other cities and districts of Azerbaijan. Their number on annual basis increased by 3,841, or 6.7 percent.
