Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 17
By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:
Azerbaijan will send students to Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) for advanced training, Azerbaijan’s National Nuclear Research Center told Trend.
A trilateral memorandum on cooperation in this sphere was signed between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, FAIR, and Baku State University (BSU). The document was signed by Minister Ramin Guluzade, Rector of BSU Abel Maharramov and Scientific Managing Director of FAIR Paolo Giubellino.
Azerbaijan will send students and holders of master’s and doctor’s degrees, who will return to Azerbaijan as qualified specialists upon the end of training, the center said.
“FAIR is located in the suburbs of Darmstadt in Germany. It carries out joint projects with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). FAIR Research Center expressed their willingness to help Azerbaijan in the training of qualified specialists. Hence we engaged BSU to the project, because our human capacities come from that university. Giubellino is the head of ALICE project in CERN, where Azerbaijani scientists are involved as well,” the Nuclear Research Center added.
