The number of trucks passed through Iran's border terminals increased by 49 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 21 through December 20, 2020), compared to the 8th month (October 22 through November 20), said the Director General of Department of Transportation, said Javad Hedayati, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
According to Hedayati, about 60,000 trucks passed through Iran's border terminals in the 9th month.
The director general added that goods were exported via 37,000 of these trucks.
"As many as 10,000 trucks were used for import of goods and 7,500 trucks for transit," he said.
Hedayati noted that the Bazergan border terminal ranked first place in imports and exports in 9th month of the current Iranian year, Jolfa border terminal ranked second in imports, and Astara border terminal ranks second in exports.
The director general emphasized that the number of trucks parked at border terminals decreased by 20 percent in the 9th month due to the increase in freight traffic.
