Zhanaozen commandant's office together with the law enforcement bodies ensure a state of emergency imposed by the Kazakh President's decree, the Kazakh Prosecution General's office said today.
"The operational situation in Zhanaozen, Aktau cities, Shetpe settlement and the region as a whole is stable and controlled by law enforcement bodies," the Prosecution General's office said.
It is reported that no crimes were committed in Zhanaozen and Shetpe over the last days.
"Three people were brought to the office in Zhanaozen over the last night (December 19-20) for curfew violation," the report said. "After the prophylactic conversation, they were released."
The governmental commission operates to resolve the socio-economic, humanitarian and other problems that have arisen in connection with the riots in the city of Zhanaozen.
The investigative group actively operates and takes measures to arrest the organizers and active participants in the riots and looting.
