BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. Turkmen Demiryollary OJSC has purchased 5 mainline freight locomotives produced by the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant in Russia, Trend reports citing Orient news.

Bryansk Machine-Building Plant is part of the Transmashholding Group, the largest company in the Russian transport engineering market.

Transmashholding has implemented the contract signed in August 2022. The locomotives are designed for operation in climatically difficult conditions on terrain with a complex route profile.

Representatives of the Demiryollary noted the quality and reliability of Bryansk machinery, as well as expressed interest in new developments of Transmashholding and their intention to continue cooperation with the plant on updating and expanding the company's locomotive fleet.

New locomotives will contribute to the realization of the transport potential of Turkmenistan, increase the volume of domestic and transit cargo transportation, as well as increase the speed of their delivery.
