BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 26. Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan plan to put the trade turnover on billion-dollar indicators, Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov told during the Uzbek-Kyrgyz business forum in Bishkek, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
According to Zhaparov, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $543.2 million from January through November 2022, increasing by 21 percent, compared to the reporting period in 2021.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the countries have a wealth potential to achieve comprehensive trade and economic cooperation. To date, 60 enterprises with Uzbek capital operate in Kyrgyzstan, including 22 joint ventures and 38 with the full participation of Uzbek capital.
"We are interested in attracting investments, advanced technologies, and management of Uzbek companies to the development of the Kyrgyz economy," Zhaparov added.
According to him, Uzbekistan is a reliable neighbor, fraternal state, and strategic partner for Kyrgyzstan. Today, a high level of strategic cooperation has been established between the countries, and a constructive and trusting dialogue has been established.
