Iranian artist Dana Nahdaran is displaying a series of his paintings inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece under the title of "My Mona Lisa", Tabnak reported.
"Mona Lisa", a 16th century painting by Leonardo da Vinci depicts a woman with a mysterious smile. The painting is also called La Gioconda. It is kept in the Louvre in Paris and is one of the most famous paintings in the world.
"When I first saw the Mona Lisa, I was intrigued by it and since then, it has had a powerful influence on me and on my paintings," he told the Persian service of MNA.
This exhibit contains details of Mona Lisa in different colors and techniques in which the color red dominates, he said.
Nahdaran is a member of the Iranian Painters Association, and to date has attended several group exhibits in New York, Freiburg, Isfahan and Tehran. His first solo exhibit held two years ago in Tehran also focused on the Mona Lisa.
"My Mona Lisa" will run until January 4 at the venue located at 5 Rolex Shopping Center, between Zafaranieh and Mahmudieh neighborhoods, Vali-e Asr Ave.
