Iran establishes its relations with the Persian Gulf littoral states on the basis of all-out security, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and Africa Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said, Irna reported.
"Iran's strategy is stability, progress and development of the region," he added.
Referring to his meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Sabah on Thursday, the Iranian diplomat said during his meeting with Kuwaiti minister the two sides discussed issues of mutual interest, as well as regional developments.
"During my meeting with the Kuwaiti foreign minister, I conveyed Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi's message of invitation to Sheikh Sabah and we also agreed on holding a joint commission with the Kuwaiti side," Amir Abollahian added.
Abdollahian noted that developments in Syria, Bahrain and Yemen were also discussed at the meeting.
"We believe that resolving the problems of these countries will contribute to security and stability of the Middle East region," he added.
