The natural gas pipeline from Iran to Iraq is 40 percent completed, Shana News quoted Iran's oil minister as saying on Saturday.
Iran, Iraq and Syria's oil ministers will meet to discuss the details of transporting gas from Iran to the other two countries, Rostam Ghasemi,the head of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said.
Six months of the 18-month timeline for Iran's gas to be transported to Iraq have passed and the pipeline is 40 percent done. Next, Iran will work on transporting gas through Syria.
Along its eastern border, Iran has a contract to build a pipeline to Pakistan by 2014 and intends to finish that project ahead of time, Mr Ghasemi said
