(zaman) - While the United States is struggling to prevent a full-blown civil war from erupting in Iraq, Senator Joseph Biden, a Delaware democrat, said peace could not be ensured in Iraq without the help of Turkey, reports Trend.
Biden called for an international conference to be attended by all neighboring countries.
Biden, who is expected to head the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, published an article in the Washington Post describing the U.S. policy in Iraq as unsuccessful.
The main concern should be not to leave Iraq in chaos when U.S. forces withdraw, Biden said.
He also made several formal suggestions to the Iraq Study Group, which is charged with developing recommendations bringing peace to Iraq.
