Iran polymer producer keen to hit CIS, Turkey, Iraq markets(exclusive)

Iran's Kermanshah Polymer Company is planning to expand its exports to CIS countries as well as Turkey and Iraq.

“The CIS, in particular Azerbaijan as well as Turkey and Iraq are among our main targets. Our future plan is to enter the markets in these countries,” CEO of Kermanshah Polymer Company Masoud Saeedi-Taheri told Trend.

Elaborating on plans to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan, he said that sides need to engage in more talks and discussions to pave the ground.

Masoud Saeedi-Taheri said that the company’s annual output surpasses 300,000 tons of which 220,000 tons are exported to international markets.

Saying that the company exports about 70 percent of its output, the CEO added that the Central Asia and Europe are among the main destinations of his company’s output.

Iranian petrochemical plants in total produced 44.2 million tons of petrochemical products during the first 10 months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20, 2017-Jan. 21).

According to the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) of Iran, in total 14.3 million tons of petrochemical products, worth 307.3 trillion rials (about $6.7 billion on free market rates) were supplied to domestic markets during the 10-month period.

The nominal capacity of the country’s plants for producing petrochemicals stands at 62 million tons.
