Iran investing in tourism projects in Ardabil Province

Iranian government is working on 73 investment projects in tourism sector in Ardabil Province, said Managing Director of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism in Ardabil Province Nader Fallahi, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The projects include coin, stone and pottery museums in Bileh Savar, Pars Abad and Kowsar counties and archaeology museum in Germi County," said Fallahi.

"The restorations of historical schools and the 'Vakil' historical market have been completed and the construction plan for Ardabil Bazar is expected to be revealed in the coming months," he said.

"Five museums have been inaugurated in Sheikh Safi-ad-din Ardabili shrine, which envisages increase in the number of visitors," he said.

Fallahi pointed out that about $11 million has been invested in archaeological work in the city of Shahr Yeri in Meshgin Shahr.

The official pointed out that the investments in this sphere continue even during the times of COVID-19.
