INVESTMENTS IN REAL SECTOR

In January to September 2006 a total of 4251.5mln new manats ($4831.25mln on average exchange rate of 0.88 AZN per 1 USD), has been invested in the Azerbaijani economy, which is 16.4% up as compared to the amount of investments put in 2005.

In September 2006, 627.6mln AZN ($713.2mln) of capital investments has been invested in the Azerbaijani economy with a growth pace of 53.7% as compared to last year, while they rose 36.5% as compared to August 2006.

According to the State Statistics Committee, 1689.6mln manats ($1920mln) has been invested at the expense of internal sources, or 52.8% more than 2006. Special weight of internal investments made up 39.7%. Foreign investments constituted 2561.9mln AZN ($2911.3m)

Investments put in major capital at the expense of funds of enterprises and organizations made up 3,196mln manats (with 0.2% drop), banking credits 309.1mln manats (89.4%), community funds - 224.6mln AZN (79.7% up), budget funds 443mln manats (+4.2 times), non-budgetary funds 60.7mln manats (92.8%).

In compliance with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 8 February 2006 it is planned to allocate 882.3m AZN for the implementation of construction work at the expense of the budget funds.

411.9mln manats has been put in the construction of facilities, financed at the expense of budget funds, or 46.7% more than the target. 75.8% of all investments was directed at construction and repair work.

Investments directed at repair and construction work rose 10.9% and made 2155.3mln manats. 3,664,1mln manats (86.2%) has been directed for the construction of production facilities, while 587.4m manats (13.8%) non-production facilities
