During the nine months of 2006, the investigation bodies of Armenia have investigated 34 criminal cases on the articles 132,132.1, 261 and 262 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (trafficking, enrolment of people for exploitation, sexual exploitation, involvement into prostitution, contribution to prostitution).
The press-service of the Prosecutor's office of Armenia reports 26 people were convicted and no judgement of acquittal was delivered. 7 suspects are wanted, 5 criminal cases are investigated, 4 cases are united, reports Trend.
According to the materials of the criminal cases, 121 people, including 118 women, were subjected to sexual exploitation. 64 persons were brought to administrative responsibility during the period under review.
