The Ambassador of Georgia to Armenia, Revaz Gachecheladze, informed News-Armenia on December 12 that Georgia does not recognize the results of the referendum held in Nagorno-Karabakh.
As a Georgian Ambassador to Armenia, I fully agreed with the position of Georgia within GUAM, he said.
According to Gachecheladze, previously GUAM had expressed his attitude towards the referendum in a negative tone, and Georgia does not recognize the results of the referendum held in Nagorno-Karabakh, Trend reports.
On December 5, the Council of the Foreign Ministers of GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) expressed serious concerns about the constitutional referendum that was held in Nagorno-Karabakh on December 10.
In accordance with the joint statement made as a result of the meeting of the GUAM Foreign Ministers in Brussels, the Ministers stated that conducting the referendum in Nagorno-Karabakh roughly breaks the Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic, as well as norms and principles of the international law.
