The Georgian Foreign Ministry categorically denies relationship with the leader of "Caucasus Emirate" Doku Umarov. According to the Foreign Ministry, Russian side's accusations are "absurd".
Russian Anti-Terrorist Committee accused the Georgian special services of assisting Umarov in organizing terrorist attacks in Sochi.
"These accusations are groundless, there is no documentary evidence, and such baseless accusations have been continuing for years. But the Russian side has never provided evidence of the Georgian side's involvement," the report says.
It says that the Georgian side has repeatedly raised the issue of cooperation in the fight against terrorism with the Russian side in the format of the Geneva talks. "However, there is no response, 15 cases of terrorist attacks committed or planned against the occupied territories of Georgia were recorded, and the last of them was prevented a few weeks ago in Zugdidi, while the perpetrator was arrested," the report, which stressed that the Georgian side provided evidence to the Russian side on Russian military men's involvement in the terrorist attacks in the Georgian territory, but has received no response yet.
