Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili congratulated the World War II veterans gathered in Vake Park in Tbilisi.
Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Alasania and representative of the parliamentary minority Tina Khidasheli also congratulated the veterans.
"We must do everything for Georgian World War II veterans to enable them to live with dignity," Ivanishvili said.
Ivanishvili congratulated all the Georgian people, especially veterans on the Victory Day.
"The entire civilised world celebrates this day," he said. "Georgia has been involved in this terrible war and sent more than 700,000 citizens there. Around 300,000 of them were killed in the struggle against fascism. Many heroes returned, but we have a lot of nameless heroes. We must revere their memory. It is our duty. We must do everything to ensure a decent life for our veterans."
Veterans of the war receive pensions worth over $100 in Georgia.
