Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with the Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie during his visit to the United States.
According to Georgia's presidential administration, Chris Christie, one of the leading reformers in the United States, noted the importance of continuing the reforms and democratic processes undertaken in Georgia.
According to the report, the meeting also discussed the political processes on-going in Georgia, the country's foreign policy and shared democratic values that bind Georgia to the United States.
"We need to know who will become tomorrow's political elite in the United States, since Georgia will not always be in such a difficult position as it has been in recent period. Therefore, we are meeting with representatives of both parties, Republican and Democratic. We are preparing for the future. Georgia should not disappear out of sight from Europe and the U.S. With regards to Christie, it is important that he is one of the main reformers. America and Georgia are brands associated with the reforms," Saakashvili said.
