Recent reconciliation meetings in Cairo between Palestinian officials have fallen short of expectations, an official said Sunday, Maan reported.
Independent coalition chief Khalil Assaf told Ma'an TV that Palestinian factions have not done enough to fulfill the ambitions of the Palestinian people.
"None of the agreed points have been implemented," Assaf said, adding that unity talks should take place publicly.
Palestinian political parties meeting in Cairo this week failed to reach any concrete outcomes, participants in the summit told Ma'an on Sunday.
Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine chief Nayef Hawatmeh told Ma'an that meetings "ended without achieving any tangible progress."
A member of his politburo Rabah Muhanna was more explicit. "The Cairo meetings did not achieve anything ... they did not set a date for forming the new government nor a date for fresh elections."
"Fatah and Hamas have no real will to end the division," Muhanna said.
Hamas and Fatah split into separate governments in 2007.
In May 2011, a deal was signed to reunite the West Bank and Gaza, but has yet to be implemented.
