Taliban militants fighting Afghan and NATO-led troops stormed Khogyani district in the southern Ghazni province on Monday and after setting on fire the district headquarters fled away, spokesman for provincial administration Syed Ismael Jehangir said.
"The armed Taliban rebels stormed the headquarters of Khogyani district at 04:00 a.m. local time today and after burning the headquarters building abandoned it," Jehangir told Xinhua.
He also added that the situation at the moment is under control and investigation has been initiated.
The official also rejected Taliban claim of capturing the district and said police have already been deployed there.
