Assange: I will continue my work and protest my innocence

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange vowed Thursday to continue his work and protest his innocence with regard to the sex offence allegations brought against him in Sweden, he said in London after being freed on bail, dpa reported.

Standing on the steps of the Royal Courts of Justice, and giving a victory a salute, Assange thanked his supporters, lawyers and the British justice authorities for working to get him freed.

"If justice is not always an outcome, at least it is not dead yet," he said in his remarks about the British justice system.

"It's great to smell the fresh air of London again," he added.

During his time in "solidarity confinement," he had time to reflect on all people around the world whose conditions were "more difficult than those faced by me."

"I hope to continue my work and protest my innocence in this matter and continue to reveal, as we get it, the evidence in these allegations."
