Champions League holders Barcelona on Sunday won the World Club Cup by beating Brazilian team Santos 4-0 in a one-sided final played in Yokohama, dpa reported.
World footballer Lionel Messi scored twice for the La Liga side, while Xavi and Cesc Fabregas scored the others in a match which Barcelona completely dominated, allowing their opponents just eight minutes of ball possession in the first half.
Earlier Qatar club Al Sadd made sure of third-place finish with a 5-3 penalty shoot-out victory against Japanese champions Kashiwa Reysol after the game ended goalless.
