The transshipment of cargo through the Turkish port of Iskenderun in Hatay province in January 2020 has exceeded 4.4 million tons, a source in the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Feb. 26.
The ships under the Turkish flag transshipped 128,585 tons, and the ships under flag of other countries – over 4.3 million tons of cargo.
In January 2020, 103,448 tons of cargo were transported via transit through the port of Iskenderun, the ministry said.
In January 2020, the cargo transshipment volume through Turkish ports was over 32.9 million tons.
During January 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment by the ships under Turkish flag has made up over 2.4 million tons. The remaining 30.5 million tons accounted for other countries.
