Ninth plenary session of the Senate - the upper house of the Uzbek parliament began its work in Tashkent, Trend reported from the meeting.
It is planned to discuss 24 issues, including 9 law during the two-day meeting.
As reported earlier, today's meeting will discuss issue On Approval of the Concept of the Republic of Uzbekistan's foreign policy, introduced to Parliament by President Islam Karimov as legislative initiative. The concept is a common belief system, defining the fundamental principles and strategic priorities of the foreign policy goals and objectives in the international arena, the mechanisms of promoting national interests in Uzbekistan in the medium and long term perspective.
In addition, the meeting agenda includes a number of laws aimed at gradual reforming and liberalization of all spheres of political, social and economic life, the realization of the Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country, as well as the State program Year of small business and private entrepreneurship.
Other issues - the law On protection of private property and guarantees of property rights, On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection to the further reform of the judicial system and On Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility in connection with the introduction of liability for unlawful interference with the activity of the entity, On the establishment of the Mardlik Order, and a number of other laws.
The bicameral parliament in Uzbekistan was formed in 2005. Over 100 MPs work in the upper house and 150 MPs work in the Legislative Chamber.
