Little Venice is one of the most beautiful sections of the Seaside National Park in Baku.
This small town within the city, reminiscent of Italy's Venice, adds special beauty to the capital of Azerbaijan with its stunning canals and architecture.
Little Venice was constructed as part of the Baku Boulevard in the 1960s, and has become a favorite holiday destination for Baku citizens and guests of the city.
Little Venice got its "second wind" in 2012 after reconstruction.
The renovation work was carried out maintaining the overall structure of the area, its canals were widened, new boats purchased, additional bridges and two restaurants built. One restaurant offers its customers a selection of European cuisine and the other an Eastern one. One can also have a good time here just enjoying a cup of tea.
Baku's guests during the first European Games, should visit and get acquainted with this beautiful part of the capital.
Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place from 12 - 28 June 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. Almost 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
The European Olympic Committees (EOC) awarded Baku the games in December 2012. The Baku European Games Operations Committee (BEGOC) will organize and run the Games in cooperation with the EOC.
