Turkish President Abdullah Gul has stated that the relevant agencies are taking action to recover losses caused by damage by the heavy flooding in Istanbul, the Turkish news agency Cihan reported.

"This act of nature in Istanbul is an unprecedented event. The relevant agencies are taking measures for reparation for damages," Gul said.

The number of those who have died as a result of heavy flooding in Istanbul has reached 30, Turkish TV channel CNN Turk reported.

The heavy rains, which lasted for two days, have seriously damaged the city and injured residents. According to local hydrometeorology, the unstable weather in Turkey will last for a few more days.

There are no Azerbaijani citizens among those injured in the heavy floods in Istanbul, the Azerbaijani Consul in Istanbul, Sayyad Aran, told Trend .
