Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend E.Huseynli / Special groups have been established in Baku State Road Police Department (BSRPD) for fighting against car hooligans and cases of covering glasses of the cars. This decision was made at the operative meeting of the Department.
The Chief of the BSRPD's Department for Propaganda of Road Security and Public Relations, Police Colonel-Lieutenant, Vagif Asadov, reported to Trend that the meeting presided by the Chief of the BSRPD, Hasan Shirinov, gave a task to hold permanent operations to strengthen the fighting against the car hooligans and others who roughly break the road movement rules.
Statements will be drawn up for those who do not obey the road police in accordance with the article 310 of the Code of Administrative Breaks (not following legal demand of police). The statements will be sent to the courts to arrest the offenders.
According to Asadov, during the raids in Baku held since 1 October, 31,459 drivers have been fined for breaking road movement rules. Some 6534 drivers have been made answerable for covering the glasses of the cars, 390 drivers for using cars in unfit condition and 579 drivers for absence of the driving licenses.
Over the reported period, 66 car hooligans have been detained. In addition, 1938 drivers have been detained for not using security belts, 950 drivers for exceeding the defined speed and 602 for creating casualty situation.
