Investigation Carried out to Reveal Connection Between Explosions in Bakuelectricshabaka and Abu-Bakr Mosque

Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 August / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / A special expertise group has been formed to examine the type of the explosive placed in the transformer plot.

Elchin Musayev, an investigator in the Khatai based Prosecutor Office, told Trend that the explosive was placed on the transformer doors and the explosion took place when the employees of the Bakuelectricshabaka entered into the transformer plot.

Kamal Bayramov and Elmar Ismayilov, two employees of Bakueletricshabaka based in Khatai District, died as a result of the explosion. Three others - Jasur Mammadov, Parviz Seidov and Ramil Gurbanov were injured.

Musayev said that an investigation had been launched into the case.

Musayev neither approved nor confirmed the information of the possible connection between the explosions in the transformer and in the Abu-Bakr Mosque.

The investigation is being held by the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor's General Office on Grave Crimes.

On 22 August, an explosion took place on the electric transformer based on the 3, M.Rustamov street.

Employees of the Prosecutor's General Office, National Security Ministry and other law enforcement department came to the scene of the accident.

Two people died and 19 were injured as a result of the exposition that took place in the Abu-Bakr Mosque in Baku on 17 August.
