Azerbaijan , Baku, Sept. 5 /Trend/

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi will soon visit Iraqi Kurdistan, ISNA reported.

There is no more any additional information of exact time and purposes of Salehi's visit.

According to ISNA, Salehi may discuss the The Party for Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) issue with Iraqi officials.

Iran has recently deployed 5,000 military forces in the northwest of the country along its common border with the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

This is aimed to carry out military maneuvers with a view to stabilize the situation on the border area and fight the counterrevolutionary groups.

Members of the terrorist PJAK group - an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) - regularly engage in armed clashes with Iranian security forces along the country's western borders with Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.
