Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.16 / Trend, E.Mehdiyev /
There are some forces concerned over Azerbaijan's stable and dynamic development. Some neighboring states and some circles are among them. Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Department Ali Hasanov made this statement at the 6th Extraordinary Congress of the Council of Elders in Baku on Saturday.
He said today there are forces wishing to strike Azerbaijan by using its writers, poets, non-governmental organizations and political parties.
"There are forces inside and outside the country who wish to stop Azerbaijan's development. With its 10-million population, Azerbaijan has become a state pursuing an independent policy in the region. President Ilham Aliyev pursues an independent geopolitical policy. President Aliyev does not agree with any issue that does not meet Azerbaijan's interests. At this stage, there are people who want to aggravate the situation inside and create confrontation, and only elders can prevent their actions. I am sure that during its future political activity, the Council of Elders will be in charge of all the processes. Let the society follow your example and be guided by your ideas," Hasanov underscored.
He said that presidential elections are due to take place in Azerbaijan.
"Believe me, these are crucial elections. Azerbaijani society and the state have reached the period when it is among the most developed countries. However, not all in the world like Azerbaijan, there are rivals who cannot endure the current development," Hasanov said.
