Reproductive Diseases Grow Younger: Baku Health Department’s Head

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Reproductive diseases become more frequent among 14 to 18 years old youths.

The permanent parliamentary commission on social policy held its discussions concerning reproductive health and national legislation issues. According to Leyla Saidbayova, the head of the Health Department of Baku City similar disease is seen frequently among youth under 25 in Europe.

"Young couples do not know everything about marriage and physical state of each other and get divorced soon after marriage," Saidbayova said.

More information about marriage may prevent spread of different diseases among youth. MP Malahat Hasanova spoke about significance of the issue.

Sadagat Gahramanova, the deputy chairman of the State Committee of Family, Women and Children Problems, said that the Committee has already held discussions due to resolve the problem. Early marriages are also one of the relevant issues of discussions.

In 2007 6 or 7 children died right after their birth at home in Lankaran and Ganja.

Most of the Azeri women do not attend antenatal clinics.
