Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 3 / Trend H.Valiyev /

The Azerbaijani Association of Cable Operators (ACOA) intends to cooperate with the Azerbaijani National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council (NTRBC), ACOA head Samir Gurbanov said.

He added that the joint work will address several issues related to the field of cable television.

One problem that might be solved is the regulation of relations with the public, as the cable network infrastructure passes through roofs and porches, he said.

"There are also some problems associated with broadcast content," he said. "We broadcast more than 100 channels. Among them are channels whose retransmission requires legal approval."

But despite existing problems, the cable TV market in Azerbaijan is developing, he said.

The ACOA was established by AG Telekom, the founder of the KATV1 cable television, and SN Telekom, the founder of the SNTV cable television.

The association aims to coordinate the activities of cable operators, to participate in the preparation of regulations governing cable TV activities, and to experience exchanges.
