Press Council Urged Media Sources to Be More Careful in Spreading Information about Juvenile's Participation in Crimes

The Press Council of Azerbaijan has addressed the existing media sources of the country and asked them to be more careful during spreading information about juvenile's participation in crimes, a source in the Press Council told Trend.

NGO Children's Alliance has sent an appeal to the Press Council, where it expressed discontent with the fact that while some media sources spread information on juvenile participation in crime commitment, mass media points out the names of the children who committed or were related with the crime. Despite the fact that such cases are prohibited both in the Constitution of Azerbaijan and the bill On Mass Media, local media sources sometimes point out the names of juveniles, as well as show their faces. But that hampers their free being in the society, free attendance to school, and that may spoil all their life in the future.

The Press Council urges all the media sources not to allow such cases.
