Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov met with the World Bank's Regional Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde, Trend reports on Nov. 18 referring to the ministry.
During the meeting Jabbarov said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to partnership with international financial institutions, including the World Bank, highly appreciates its technical assistance and financial support.
According to him, cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank in many areas is important in the context of the application of advanced international experience.
Besides, he informed about measures taken to diversify the economy, develop the non-oil sector, encourage investment and further improve the business environment in Azerbaijan.
Bjerde emphasized the productive cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan.
According to her, the bank supports the economic reforms carried out in the country.
The parties also discussed aspects of the implementation of joint projects and new areas of cooperation.
