BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. The turnover of the retail trade in Azerbaijan from January to October 2022 increased by 2.9 percent in comparison with the same rate of the previous year, reaching 40.4 billion manat ($23.7 billion), Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

The turnover of groceries, beverages, and tobacco products has increased by 2.2 percent up to 22.7 billion manat ($13.3 billion), and that of non-food goods has risen by 3.6 percent up to 17.7 billion manat ($10.4 billion).

The population spent 51.6 percent of their income on groceries; 4.6 percent on beverages and tobacco products; 14 percent on textiles, clothes, and footwear; 5.7 percent on gasoline and diesel; 5 percent on electronic goods and furniture; 2.2 percent on pharmaceutical products; 1 percent on computer-related items; and 15.9 percent on other non-food goods from January to October 2022.

Within the accounting period, the cost of goods that are manufactured by the business entity in the private sector increases by 2.9 in comparison with the same rate from January to October 2021 and accounts for 99.7 percent of the total retail turnover.

During the above-mentioned period of time, the real value of the retail turnover increased by 3.4 percent in the field of business, by 4 percent in markets and trade fairs, and by 2.1 percent for private entrepreneurs compared to the same period the previous year.

The monthly average retail turnover in Azerbaijan per capita was 401 manats ($236); the food, beverages, and tobacco products turnover was 225 manats ($132); and the non-food goods turnover was 175 manats ($103).
