Since putting into operation of Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline, a problem to supply people with water (water supply with break) will be solved during one or two years, Head of OJSC Nizameddin Rzayev said on Feb. 13.

"Presently, roughly 40 percent of people are supplied with daily water in Baku. After putting into operation of the water pipeline, this figure can be increased 10-15 percent. The problem will be completely solved in future," Rzayev said.

A mechanism of water distribution from the water pipeline is under preparation. It is planned to be launched in December 2009, he said.

Construction of Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline was launched on March 1, 2007 with participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Azersu OJSC has signed an agreement with alliance of Turan Hazinedaroglu/Tekser Inshaat Sanayi/Gence Korpu Tikinti2 to project and construct Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline.

Total cost of the project is 480 million manat.

Route of the water pipeline stretches from Oguz-Gabala reservoir through Charkhana-Geychay-Agsu-Udullu. The length totals more than 260 kilometers.
