The Azerbaijani Transport Ministry has put in operation the country's longest bridge on the Shin River in the Incha village of the Shaki region.
The length of the new bridge is 1,300 meters, with a width of 13 meters.
The length of the protective structures is 1,240 meters.
The new bridge connects villages located between the Shaki and Gakh regions. The bridge, covering 21 villages in the Shaki region, will serve 34,000 people.
The road junction consists of six bridges and five drainage systems. Its construction began in 2007.
The opening ceremony was attended by Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov and Azeryolservis head Javid Gurbanov.
As Mammadov said during the opening ceremony, over the past three years, 3 billion manat have been spent on the development of Baku's road infrastructure and the reconstruction of the country's major highways, both at the expense of state budget funds and through loans from international organizations.
